Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) oversees Hong Kong swimming pools. There are 44 public swimming pools located on Hong Kong Island, 13 in Kowloon and 22 New Territories. LCSD manages public pools according to laws set out in Hong Kong Law Chapter 132 sections 42 through 45 and inspects regularly for sanitation and hygiene compliance. Inspections include the sanitary conditions of changing rooms, bathing water quality and cleanliness in surrounding areas. Inspections are carried out by trained inspectors under supervision by team leaders; and their results made available through this website. Furthermore, LCSD offers an information hotline for inquiries about pool operations from 9:00am-6pm Monday-Friday which is free-of-charge and staff-staffed between those hours.
